To Donate Items:

When space and time is available, “Jackie's Attic” will usually accept any donation, of any kind, at any time, with great appreciation. However, as a courtesy to our volunteers, we have adopted the following formal policy so people will yell at me and not them:

Donations are expected to be clean, complete and in working order. No more than one bag or box at a time. Because of our surplus of clothing, some donations may end up in storage or outsourced to another facility. Please contact us ahead of time if you plan to drop off any furniture. We do not accept donations on wet days or within one hour of closing time. We no longer accept cats as donations.

Any items given to “Jackie's Attic” becomes their exclusive property and can be used, sold or disposed of at their discretion.

Below is a list of the current most needed items and how best to donate them:

1. Money -you can give online, at the shop, cash, credit, check, Venmo, the lock box located at 217 Chestnut or mail to 401 5th Street South, Virginia, MN 55792
2. Towels, forks and spoons -bring as many as you have to our shop during business hours, we will take them all.

3. Sheets -they can be dropped off at the thrift store during hours, clean and marked by size.

4. A few dressers, a couch -they can be dropped off at the thrift store so long as someone does not drop one off just before you. Text in advance.

5. A nice hoodie, dress, pair of pants or shirt -put in on a hanger, hang it on a rack.

Below is a list of the absolute worst things to donate and the most awful way to donate them:

1. Headboards -leave them leaning against the front window of the shop

2. Desks -stack them up in a pile behind the thrift store, preferably when it is raining

3. Baby furniture/accessories -pile them up blocking the door before we open on Monday.

4. Many bags of unmarked clothing -wait until business hours when the staff is busy and just drop it anywhere by the front desk

5. Toys that are incomplete, need fixing or make sounds -bring them in by the armful and leave them wherever you wish.
