WHY THE NAME "JACKIE'S ATTIC?"

When Jacqueline Triestman was in her late 20's she had an important decision to make: have children, or have nice things. My mom chose to have kids. Never again did she drink from fine China or safely own anything white. But my mom always found a way to make the best out of things that were, well, not the best. As "mom to the world," she was always collecting items for the "teacher's pantry," churches, missionaries, or underdressed neighborhood kids. She found a way to use just about anything that could be used, and everything else either went into the garbage or into the attic (or the shed or the storage room or, worse, the freezer). Granted, she may have held onto some things that she probably should have tossed, but she seemed to take great pleasure, like her Heavenly Father, in seeing the beauty, value and utility in the otherwise discarded. Jackie passed away from cancer in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of love, sacrifice and service . . . and a very cluttered attic.
